We are proud to announce that several of the SIG members have been honored for their work in technical communication.

STC Associate Fellows

Two more members of the AccessAbility SIG can now call themselves STC Associate Fellows.

These talented individuals are Gloria Reece and Chauncey Wilson.

The stc.org site says

To be considered for election as an Associate Fellow, a candidate must have attained distinction in the field of technical communication. The candidate must have accomplished one, two, or all three of the following:

  • Been responsible for important work in the field of technical communication.
  • Done notable original work that has contributed to the advancement of technical communication.
  • Made a significant contribution to the Society.

Ken Rainey Award

Another SIG member, Ginny Redish, is the winner of the Ken Rainey Award.

The stc.org site says

This award honors research that has made positive, significant contributions to technical communication practice and teaching. One award will be given each year to an STC member who has made a positive difference to practice or teaching in the field of technical communication from conducting a lifetime of quality research in the field or from completing a single high-quality empirical study or a set of related high-quality studies.

Let’s have a round of virtual applause for Gloria, Chauncey, and Ginny! Congratulations!!

For those attending the conference in just a few weeks, these awards will be given to Gloria, Chauncey, and Ginny at the awards dinner on June 3rd.
