The SIG has jumped on the Twitter bandwagon.
We tweet at http://twitter.com/stcaccess.
Tweet? Twitter? Let’s take Twitter first. Twitter is often called micro-blogging. Entries posted to Twitter can only contain 140 characters. These postings, or messages, are called tweets.
We have mentioned tweets on this blog earlier in connection with the June 2008 Technical Summit. When the next Summit comes around (May 2009 in Atlanta), this SIG can participate in the chorus of tweets!
Why are we tweeting? Technical communicators are doing so many different things nowadays, and there are so many channels of communication. The channel called Twitter has a large technical communicator audience, so we should be there holding the banner high for accessibility in technical communication. If we are fortunate, our presence will encourage those technical communicators who are not STC members to learn more about STC.
If you are on Twitter, and you are interested in accessibility issues related to technical communication, come follow the SIG on Twitter and bring your friends!
