Did you know that the STC Technical Summit being held in Atlanta next May will be recorded? Tom Johnson interviewed Lloyd Tucker, STC’s Director of Education and Membership to learn more about this new service.

What did Tom ask Lloyd?

  • Why did the STC decide to record all the sessions this year?
  • Won’t the cost be astronomical?
  • Technically, how will you pull this off?
  • What were the conditions that led to this decision — e.g., why now? For example, are people perceiving less and less value from their STC membership?
  • What portable media device will best be suited to playing this content?
  • Did you get any resistance to the idea of recording the Summit?
  • What do you think the results will be?

Pop over to Tom’s interview with Lloyd to read how Lloyd replied to these questions.

Lloyd closed the interview with a challenge: what should the service be called? What do you think? Post your ideas in the comments section here or on Tom’s blog.

See you in Atlanta!

Good question, Lori! I haven’t heard all the details yet, but if we can present some feasible suggestions, we are closer to having them carried out.

Anyone out there have some easy-to-implement suggestions?
