Technical Editing SIG now accepting scholarship applications!

We’d like to share some news we received from Rick Sapir, webmaster for the STC Technical Editing SIG.

The Technical Editing SIG is offering two scholarships of $800.00 each and they are accepting your application!

The Scholarships

The first scholarship assists students who are pursuing an undergraduate degree in Technical Communication and the second assists students who are pursuing a graduate degree in Technical Communication. Students applying for one of these scholarships are expected to be able to demonstrate their focus on topics related to technical editing through their academic studies, current jobs, special projects, or undergraduate/graduate program. The winners will be announced in Corrigo, the Technical Editing SIG Newsletter.

Eligibility

The Technical Editing SIG Scholarship Committee evaluates applicants’ academic records and potential for contributing to the Technical Editing profession. To be eligible for a scholarship, an applicant must be:

  • Enrolled in an undergraduate degree or graduate degree program in Technical Editing or Technical Communication
  • Pursuing a career as a Technical Editor

Deadline for Application

The Technical Editing SIG is accepting scholarship applications for 2011. The deadline for submission is June 12, 2011. Winners will be notified in early to mid-July 2011.
