I won’t make any promises on what you’ll get out of joining STC or – especially! – the AccessAbility SIG. Only you can control what benefits you will enjoy.

The conversation about accessibility starts in our email discussion list, on the blog here, in our LinkedIn account, on MySTC, or through our tweets on Twitter. The conversation begins on several different platforms, but your voice is what continues it.

I joined this SIG almost 10 years ago, and what have I received? Friends and an education. The education comes from the knowledge, wisdom, insights, and laughs those friends have shared over the years. All it took in all those cases was responding to a mail or being motivated to “look up that unknown stuff” being discussed.

There is one project for members that I’ll mention in closing: STC’s Technical Communication Body of Knowledge. The topic of accessibility needs lots of love. Together, we can build that repository.
